It looks like the long-awaited “true” sequel to 1994′s hit comedy “Dumb and Dumber” was put on hold once again. Jim Carrey decided to leave as a result of both New Line Cinema and Warner Brother’s apparent lack of enthusiasm for the project. Both Carrey and Jeff Daniels were fully behind the movie, but now that Carrey has departed, the film’s future is called into question.

In Carrey’s words, “I thought ‘Dumber and Dumber To” was a no-brainer. After all, it’s implied in the title.”

Earlier this year, Director Peter Farelly had tried to distance himself and the rest of the cast of the original movie from the flop prequel “Dumb and Dumberer,” saying, “We did not do ‘Dumb and Dumberer’. That was a studio thing.”
